The Ministry of Religious Affairs has cautioned Hajj pilgrims and the general public against being misled by attractive Hajj packages offered by unlicensed agencies, groups or caravans.
In a warning notice issued recently, the ministry said Hajj travel is permitted only through government-approved, legally licensed and enlisted Hajj agencies.
It mentioned that some unlicensed entities are circulating attractive Hajj package offers on social media, including Facebook, in an attempt to lure prospective pilgrims.
However, no agency, travel agent, group or caravan outside the official list of approved Hajj agencies is authorised to conduct Hajj-related activities, the notice said.
The ministry urged intending pilgrims not to engage in any financial transactions with unauthorised entities and to rely only on approved Hajj agencies enlisted by the government.
It also said that the official Hajj packages and guidelines for 2027 will be announced soon, and advised all concerned to follow the government-issued instructions.
