Workers of a garment factory blocked Dhaka-Mymensingh highway at Sreepur of Gazipur on Thursday demanding arrears.
More than 300 workers of HDF garment factory took to the highway around 10:30 am, halting traffic on both sides of the highway and triggering a long tailback stretching several kilometers.
Vehicular movement remained suspended on the highway for around one hour and 45 minutes until a joint force team intervened and cleared the road, said Ayub Ali, officer-in-charge of Maona highway police station.
