“The International Association of Parliamentarians for Peace can play a vital role in this regard,” he said when Chairman of Universal Peace Federation (UPF- Asia Pacific) Ek Nath Dhakal met him at Bangabhaban.
Dhakal is also the convenor of South Asia Peace Initiative and chairman of International Association of Parliamentarians for Peace (Asia Pacific).
He handed over an invitation on behalf of UPF Chairman Thomash G Walsh for World Summit 2020 and inauguration of the International Summit Council for Peace to be held in Seoul, Korea from February 3-9 next year.
Dhakal also handed over a report of the Asia Pacific Summit, organised by UPF in Kathmandu from November 30 to December 3 last year. It was attended by 1,500 dignitaries from 45 nations and included 21 current and former heads of state, government and speakers of Parliament.
Kazi Firoz Rashid MP, president of Universal Peace Foundation Bangladesh, and secretaries to the President were also present in the meeting.
