A worker of the Sylhet City Corporation (SCC) was killed and two others were seriously injured after being electrocuted while cleaning the roof of a mosque in the city’s Chhararpar area on Sunday noon.
The deceased was identified as Naim, 20, son of Muhibur, from Shekhghat Bhangatikorpara area of the city.
The injured are Apu and Al-Amin, both from the same area.

The incident occurred around 12:00 pm when a group of four labourers were cleaning the roof of Chhararpar Jamme Mosque.
The victims came into contact with a live electric line through some iron rods, leaving Naim dead on the spot and two workers critically injured.
Locals rescued the injured and rushed them to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital.
Police later recovered the body and sent it to the same hospital morgue for an autopsy.
Khan Muhammad Mainul Zakir, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sylhet Kotwali Model Police Station, said no formal complaint had been filed by the victim’s family yet.
An unnatural death case will be filed, and the body will be handed over to the family following the autopsy.
