Joint Commissioner (Operations) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Biplab Kumar Sarkar on Wednesday said security has been increased at the Election Commission in Agargaon and regional election offices in Dhaka.
He made the comment while talking to reporters at his office at DMP headquarters on Wednesday afternoon.
He said all necessary measures have already been taken to keep the city dwellers safe. “No one will be spared if anyone tries to carry out sabotage act and try to disrupt the peace of the common people in the name of protest.”

He also said that DMP will follow its zero tolerance policy against those who try to burn buses, vandalize vehicles, try to create anarchic situation in the name of political programmes.
When asked about arson attacks on vehicles in the evening, Biplab Kumar said, burning buses cannot be a part of any politics. Many people involved in this crime have been arrested, he said adding many people were arrested on the basis of information they got from those arrested.
Besides, 14 people involved in the sabotage were arrested and the rest were arrested based on the information received from them, he said.
