A seminar on cultural dilemma as reflected in the works of Bharati Mukharjee and Jhumpa Lahiri was held at Islamic University in Kushtia.

IU English department organised the seminar at Rabindra-Nazrul Arts’ Faculty building in the morning.

English department Professor M Mamunur Rahman addressed the seminar as the chief discussant while Khairul Islam presented the article under the supervision of the university’s Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor M Shahinoor Rahman.

Department chairperson Professor Salma Sultana chaired the seminar. Around one hundred students took part in the seminar.

While addressing the seminar, the speakers shed lights on diaspora, cultural dilemma, cultural duality, identity crisis and post-colonialism.

Among others, IU English department teachers M Mizanur Rahman, Shahadat Hossain Azad, Professor Miah M Rashiduzzaman, Prodip Kumar Adhikari Prokash Chandra Biswas, Sazzad Hossain Zahid, Liton Baron Sikder were present in the seminar.
