A severe heat wave is sweeping parts of Rajshahi while mild to moderate conditions is being felt in Dhaka and other parts of the country, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said on Thursday.
A severe heat wave is sweeping parts of Rajshahi and mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping other parts of Rajshahi and Khulna divisions, as well as Dhaka, Tangail, Faridpur, Madaripur, Dinajpur, Brahmanbaria, Laxmipur, Rangamati and Bandarban districts , and it may continue,according to a regular bulletin of the Met Office.
The highest temperature 40.0°C was recorded in Rajshahi on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty winds and lightning flashes are likely at one or two places over Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions, with hail at isolated places.
Weather may remain mainly dry with a temporarily partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country.
Day temperature may remain nearly unchanged, and night temperature may rise slightly over the country.
Besides, a trough of low lies from West Bengal to the North Bay.
