The meeting was held on the sidelines of the Commonwealth Foreign Affairs Ministers Meeting at Marlborough House in London recently, said the Bangladesh High Commission in London on Friday.
This was the first ministerial level meeting with Bangladesh since Jaishankar’s appointment.
Both expressed satisfaction at the excellent bilateral relations between the two neighbours and discussed Jaishankar’s upcoming visit to Bangladesh.
Various bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest were also discussed.
Bangladesh High Commissioner Saida Muna Tasneem and Indian High Commissioner to the UK Ruchi Ghanashyam were present at the meeting.
The State Minister and Indian External Affairs Minister are now in London to attend the special Commonwealth Foreign Affairs Ministers meeting (CFAMM).
Jaishankar reiterated the highest priority accorded to India-Bangladesh ties.
