The Land Ministry on Sunday directed the local administration of all districts to take steps to shift kitchen markets from original haats and markets and their peripheries to open places amid the coronavirus outbreak.
The ministry has sent a letter to all the districts in this regard, said a press release on Sunday.
They were asked to take help from market management committees, local health department officials and law enforcers to ensure that sellers and buyers maintain social distancing.
The directive came amid the worsening coronavirus situation in the country as 145 people have so far died from the Covid-19 which has so far infected 5,416 people.
