Quamruzzaman has been closed to Sylhet Police Lines on Thursday night following a complaint lodged by the victim against him, said M Shamsuddoha, officer-in-charge of the police station.
The victim submitted a written complaint to Assistant Superintendent of Police (Osmaninagar Circle) Quamrul Islam around 10pm on Thursday.
According to the complaint, a team of plainclothes police, led by SI Quamruzzaman, went to the girl’s house around 4pm on Thursday to investigate a complaint lodged by her stepmother Monwara Begum over a land dispute.
The SI along with his men entered the house without taking permission and started to rebuke the family members.
He also threatened to get the victim raped by his companies.
Contacted, the SI denied the allegation, saying he only scolded them for their welfare.
The ASP said appropriate actions will be taken if the complaint is found to be true after investigation.
