“The child had fever when he landed at Dhaka airport. He was taken to Kuwait Bangladesh Friendship Government Hospital with his mother,” said a health representative of Health Centre of the airport, seeking anonymity.
Earlier in the day, two Italy-returnees were also sent to a hospital from the airport with symptoms of coronavirus.
"They were sent to Kuwait Bangladesh Friendship Government Hospital as they had symptoms of coronavirus," said Shahriar Sazzad, health officer-in-charge of Health Centre at Hazrat Shahajalal International Airport.
Bangladesh confirmed its first cases of coronavirus infection on Sunday. The patients – two men and a woman – have been kept in quarantine.
Prof Meerjady Sabrina Flora, director of the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) said no new coronavirus case was reported in the country in the last 24 hours till Monday morning.
Death toll from coronavirus, which first broke out in China, has climbed to 3,830. It has infected 110,071 people globally while 62,280 patients (94 percent) made recovery.
