Senior Judicial Magistrate Tamanna Farah passed the order after hearing a petition.
Besides, the court transferred the Sinha murder case to Rab-15, said Shifat’s counsel Mahbubul Alam Tipu.
Major (retd) Sinha was killed in police firing at Baharchhara police check-post on July 31. Shifat was with Sinha when the incident took place.
Shifat is the lone witness to the killing as Major (retd) Sinha along with Shifat was returning to Himchhari from Teknaf through Marine Drive road on that day.
Shifat was shown arrested in a narcotics case and another one for “obstructing police in performing duties”. Later, he was sent to jail.
He secured bail 11 days after the incident.

Major (retd) Sinha along with Shifat, Shipra Debnath and Tahsin went to Cox’s Bazar for making a documentary film on travelling.
Shifat along with Sinha was staying in a resort in Himchhari from where police detained Shipra and Tahsin.

Sharmin Shahriar Ferdous, elder sister of Sinha, filed a case with Teknaf Senior Judicial Magistrate Court after the incident on Wednesday.
The other accused are sub-inspector Nandalal Rakshit, assistant sub-inspector Liton Mia, Tutul, constables Safanur Karim, Kamal Hossain, Abdullah Al Mamun, and Mohammad Mostafa.

Senior Judicial Magistrate Tamanna Farah issued arrest warrants against all of the accused after taking the case into cognizance on Wednesday.
OC Pradeep surrendered on Thursday noon and later police took him to Cox’s Bazar.

The Home Ministry formed a four-member committee, headed by Mizanur Rahman, additional divisional commissioner (development), on August 2.
The authorities on Sunday suspended 21 police officials, including the in-charge of Baharchhara police outpost, in connection with the killing.
