The authorities on Sunday suspended 21 police officers, including the in-charge, of Baharchhara police outpost in connection with the killing of a retired army major Major of Bangladesh Army on Marine Drive road in Teknaf.
Khandaker Golam Faruq, Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Chattogram Range confirmed the matter and said a probe body formed by the Home Ministry has been investigating the matter.
Retired Major Sinha Md Rashed was killed in police firing at Baharchhara police check-post on Friday night.
Two people were arrested and two separate cases were filed in this regard, Superintendent of Police ABM Masud Hossain said on Saturday.
