Five trawlers with 58 fishermen, capsized in the sea estuary due to the storm influence of a low-pressure area in the Bay of Bengal.
So far, 52 fishermen have been rescued, but six are missing, police said.

The incident happened around 11:30 am on Tuesday at the sea estuary on the east side of Hatirchar in Noakhali and in the sea estuary adjacent to Sangu Gas Field.
According to the fishermen, the five trawlers sank due to strong winds and waves.

Meanwhile, more than 100 trawlers from Monpura, which were fishing in the sea estuary, have taken shelter in Sandwip, Hatia, and Chattogram, according to the owners of the trawlers.
Monpura Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md Jahirul Islam said, rescue operations are being carried out in coordination with the Coast Guard to rescue the missing fishermen.
