A high-level delegation from SpaceX, led by Lauren Dreyer, Vice President of Business Operations at Starlink, is scheduled to arrive in Dhaka on Friday (July 18, 2025).
The delegation also includes Richard Griffiths, director of International Strategy and Government Relations at SpaceX, Ministry of Telecommunications said in a press release on Thursday.
The purpose of the visit is to explore potential investments and strategic partnerships aimed at enhancing Bangladesh’s information and communication technology (ICT) infrastructure.
The delegation is expected to hold meetings with key government officials and policymakers, as well as formally announce the official launch of Starlink in Bangladesh.
Starlink, a satellite internet project by SpaceX, envisions Bangladesh as a significant market for expanding internet access—particularly in rural and underserved regions—while contributing to the country’s broader digital transformation goals.
During their visit, the delegation will meet with Chief Adviser Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus.
They are also scheduled to address a press conference at Hotel Intercontinental at 5pm, where further details of Starlink’s operations in Bangladesh are expected to be revealed.
Later in the evening, the delegation will attend the July Rejuvenation programme at Hatirjheel in Dhaka, reads the press release.
They are set to depart on 19 July.
