Besides, managing director of Bangladesh Water Development Board has been directed to ensure all relevant officials’ presence in the field to deal with the damage caused by the cyclone, he said.
Zahid Faruk came up with the remarks while addressing an emergency meeting on the situation centering Amphan at his office in the secretariat.
Meanwhile, Deputy Minister for Water Resources AKM Enamul Hoque Shameem said that in order to prevent loss and damage in the cyclone, all the concerned officials of coastal districts were directed to take precautionary measures through a video conference with all field level officials and deputy commissioners on May 17.
The ministry is monitoring the cyclone at all times, he added.

Besides, the ministry is in constant touch and monitoring to know the latest situation at the field level.
The maritime ports of Mongla and Payra have been advised to hoist great danger signal number 10 while Chattogram and Cox’s Bazar have been advised to hoist great danger signal number 9.
