The popular tourist destination Sada Pathor in Companiganj upazila of Sylhet has been reopened for visitors after a suspension of travel due to rising water levels caused by heavy rainfall and upstream hill torrents.
The site was reopened on Monday morning after remaining closed for a day, allowing tourists from Sylhet and other parts of the country to resume visits, said Companiganj Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mohammad Robin.
The water levels have now receded and conditions have returned to normal for tourist movement, he said.
Earlier, authorities suspended tourist access from Sunday morning as a precautionary measure due to continuous rainfall and the onrush of hill waters from upstream regions, which raised safety concerns.
However, the boat operations and travel activities have resumed, river currents remain strong.
Visitors have therefore been advised to exercise caution during travel.
Local administration, law enforcement agencies and relevant authorities have intensified monitoring to ensure tourist safety.
Authorities have also urged boat operators not to exceed passenger capacity, to ensure the use of life jackets, and to strictly follow all safety guidelines.
