The Shahanshah Hazrat Syed Ziaul Huq Maizbhandari Trust (SZHMT) is set to organise the "SZHMT 8th International Sufi Conference 2026" on December 9-11, 2026 in Chattogram.
The theme of this year’s conference is "Tasawwuf, Social Harmony and World Peace."
The international conference aims to bring together distinguished scholars, researchers, Sufi practitioners, and intellectuals from home and abroad to explore the role of Tasawwuf (Sufism) in addressing contemporary global challenges such as conflict, inequality, extremism, and social fragmentation.
This conference will also commemorate the 200th birth anniversary of Gausul Azam Shah Sufi Hazrat Syed Ahmad Ullah Maizbhandari, paying tribute to his profound spiritual legacy and significant contributions to the spread of Sufism in South Asia.
A call for paper abstracts has been announced for interested scholars and researchers. Abstracts must be between 250-300 words and submitted in English.
Full papers and presentations may be delivered in Bengali, English, Arabic, or Urdu.
The deadline for abstract submission ends on May 31, 2026 while the full paper submission date is from August 1 to September 30, 2026
