Jashore, Oct 2 (UNB) – A mobile court here on Wednesday sentenced a teacher to one year’s imprisonment for reportedly trying to rape a Class-VI girl in Keshabpur upazila.
The convict is Abdus Sattar, a teacher of mosque-based institute called Maktab of Sanyasgachha in the upazila.
Sattar kept the girl after allowing other students to go in the morning. Then he tried to rape the girl confining her to a room.
Hearing her screams, locals rescued the girl and caught the teacher.
Later, the mobile court, led by Executive Magistrate Mizanur Rahman, jailed him for one year.
