In Khulna, three people died at the Corona Unit of Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH) early Tuesday.
The deceased were identified as Faruk Hossain, 52, of Jhikargacha, Tahmina, 36, of Manirampur and Nazrul Islam, 39, of Sadar upazila.
Their samples were collected for coronavirus tests, said Dr Shailendra Nath Bishwas, KMCH consultant.
In Nawabganj of Keraniganj, two elderly people suffering from cold and fever died, said Dr Hargobinda Sarkar, Medical Officer of Upazila Health Complex.
The deceased were taking treatment at their homes in Nayabari area of Solla union and Balmantachar village of Braha union.
Their samples were collected for Covid-19 tests, the doctor said.
In Chandpur, Asma Aktar, 32, died while being treated at the isolation ward of Sadar Hospital.
The deceased was admitted to the hospital with cold and fever on Monday, said Resident Doctor Sujauddoula.
Her samples were collected for coronavirus test, he said.
In Sirajganj, 70-year-old coronavirus patient Abdul Matin Mallik died at a local hospital in Enayetpur area, said Belkuchi Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Sifat Jahan.
The test report of the deceased hailing from Tamai Village of Belkuchi confirmed that he was infected, the UNO said.
Ten houses of Mallik’s neighbourhood were put under lockdown, he said.
In Rajshahi, another man infected with Covid-19 died at the Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.
The deceased was identified as Shafiur Rahman, 55, of Panihara village of Niamatpur upazila, said Deputy Director of RMCH Dr Saiful Ferdous.
Meanwhile, health authorities confirmed the detection of record 2,911 new patients in the last 24 hours, raising the total confirmed cases to 52,445. Thirty-seven more people died from coronavirus during this period, taking the death tally to 709.
