State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Md Mahbub Ali on Wednesday said a tourist information center will be set up in each of the divisional cities, aiming to make information of tourist destinations available.
He revealed the plan while addressing an online workshop organized by Bangladesh Tourism Board on involving tourism in local development plans and creating public awareness in Laxmipur.
“The tourists will be able to access all kinds of information about the tourist spots from the concerned information center,” he said, adding that the centers will also provide the tourists with services related to guides, vehicles and accommodation.
Minister Mahbub also urged the Tourism Board to form a unit for monitoring management of different tourist destinations and entertainment.
Laxmipur Deputy Commissioner Anjan Chandra Pal presided over the session where BTB Chief Executive Officer Jabed Ahmed, among others, spoke.
