Rail communication on Santahar-Lalmonirhat route resumed on Wednesday afternoon after two hours of suspension following the derailment of a mail train on the west side of Kahalu railway station in Bogura.
A coach of Uttarbanga mail train bound for Lalmonirhat from Santahar veered off the tracks near the station around 3.00pm, said Ashraf Ali, assistant station master of Kahalu railway station.
Following this, Dhaka's rail communication with four northern districts was suspended for about two hours.
However, the rail service became normal after two hours at 5:00pm, the official said.
No casualty was reported.
