Chattogram, Sept 8 (UNB) – An indefinite transport strike in Chattogram Division’s nine districts, except Brahmanbaria and Chandpur, has been causing immense suffering to the commuters.
A body of transport owners and workers is enforcing the strike since Sunday morning to force the administration to accept its nine demands.
Buses or trucks were off the road in Cox’s Bazar, Rangamati, Khagrachhari, Bandarban, Noakhali, Cumilla, Feni, and Laxmipur.
The Oikya Parishad leaders had given a 72-hour ultimatum on Sep 4 to meet their demands.
Oikya Parishad chief Manjurul Alam Monju said the strike will continue until their demands are met.
