Islamic University, Sept 9 (UNB) – A day long tree plantation festival (Brikkho Utsab) was held at Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia on Monday.
Arts’ Faculty organised the festival at Rabindra-Nazrul academic building of the campus around 12 pm.
A discussion, cultural event were held and different trees were planted the celebrating the festival.
IU vice-chancellor Professor M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari addressed the programme as the chief guest while pro-vice-chancellor Professor M Shahinoor Rahman and Treasurer Professor M Selim Toha were the special guests with the faculty dean Professor Sarwar Murshed in the chair.
IU Bangla department Professor Rashiduzzaman conducted the programme where over two hundred teachers and students of different departments participated.
Later, the university authorities planted a total of 50 Palash trees on the campus.
