Home Affairs Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd.) Mohammad Jahangir Alam Chowdhury on Monday paid homage to martyred police members of 1971 to mark the Victory Day.
He was accompanied by Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser Mohammad Khoda Bakhsh Chowdhury, and Inspector General of Police Baharul Alam while placing wreaths at Police Memorial in Rajarbagh Police Lines.
They laid wreaths at the memorial at 8:30 am to honour the brave police personnel who sacrificed their lives during the Liberation War. A ceremonial police squad stood at attention and saluted, while the bugle was played in respect.
The ceremony concluded with DMP Commissioner Sheikh Mohammad Sazzad Ali placing a wreath at the memorial to honor the fallen police personnel.
Director General of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) AKM Shahidur Rahman, and Additional IG (Administration) Mohammad Alamgir Alam were also present during the wreath laying.
