At least four people were killed and another four injured following a head-on collision between a truck and a battery-run easy-bike in Jamalpur's Sadar upazila on Friday.
The deceased were identified as Abdul Majid, Solaiman Hossain, Saheed Ali and easy bike driver Zainal Abedin. They were all residents of Etail Kandapara village of the upazila.

The seriously injured Khalil Uddin, Hanif Uddin, Khalilur Rahman and Shafiqul Islam were admitted to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.
Quoting family members, officer-in-charge (OC) of Jamalpur Sadar police station Kazi Shah Newaz said the victims left their village, Etail Kandapara, on an easy bike to go to a shrine in Sherpur. Around 12 pm, the easy bike carrying themselves collided head-on with a Mymensingh-bound truck in Ranagacha area of the Jamalpur-Mymensingh highway, leaving Abdul Majid and Sulaiman Hossain dead on the spot, he added.

Shahed Ali and easybike driver Zainal Abedin died on the way to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.
Police seized the truck but its driver managed to escape. However, efforts are on to arrest the driver of the truck, said the OC.
