Two people were killed and 4 others were injured in a road accident at Bhedbhedi area in Rangamati on Saturday.
The deceased were identified as Puri Chakma and Gunimala Chakma. The identities of the injured could not be ascertained immediately.
The accident occurred when a passenger bus coming from Chattogram hit a CNG autorickshaw in Bhedbhedi area, leaving two passengers of the CNG dead and four others injured, said Ariful Amin, officer-in-charge (OC) of Rangamati Kotwali police station.
Locals rescued the injured and brought them to Rangamati Sadar Hospital immediately.
Shawkat Akbar, resident doctor at the hospital, said the injured are now receiving treatment. Of them, one has been sent to Chittagong for better treatment.
Legal action will be taken in this regard, said the police officer.
