Two people who had been suffering from diarrhea died at Sadar upazila on Sunday night and Monday while their samples were collected for coronavirus test.
The deceased were identified as Akram Ali, 22, of Purbapara village and Fatema Khatun, 50, of Telkupi Natunpara village of the upazila.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Sarkar Asim Kumar said families of the two deceased were kept in home quarantine.
Fatema died on Sunday night while Akram on Monday morning.
Their samples were sent to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital for COVID-19 test, he said.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh saw an alarming rise in coronavirus cases on Monday as 182 more people were diagnosed with COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, raising the total number of infected people to 802.
Besides, five more people died from COVID-19 during the period, raising the number of total deaths to 39.
