Two workers were electrocuted in a factory of GPH Ispat in Banshbaria area of Chattogram’s Sitakunda Upazila on Wednesday.
The deceased were identified as Momtaj Uddin, 28, son of Nurchchapa alias Nuru and Abdur Rashid Majhi, 27, late Siraj Mia of Pekua Upazila in Cox’s Bazar.
Suman Banik, officer-in-charge of Sitakunda Police Station, said the incident took place around 3 pm when the workers were building dams of a water reservoir in the hill to store water for the factory.
At one stage, they came in touch with a live wire and got electrocuted, he said, adding that the bodies were sent to Chittagong Medical College Hospital morgue.
An unnatural death case was filed with Sitakunda Police Station over the incident.
