UAE Aid and the Emirates Red Crescent have distributed Ramadan food parcels among 4,000 underprivileged families in different parts of Bangladesh, bringing timely relief to communities observing the holy month.
The initiative was taken to support vulnerable families with essential food supplies so they can prepare daily iftar meals more easily during the holy month of Ramadan, said a press release issued on Monday.
Each beneficiary family received a food package weighing approximately 24 kilograms, containing essential food items necessary for household consumption throughout the month.
Rashed Mohammed Naser Almail Alzaabi, Director of the Foreign Aid Department at the UAE Embassy in Dhaka, personally visited the distribution site and observed the activities, interacting with beneficiary families and local organizers to ensure the smooth implementation of the humanitarian effort.
Speaking on the occasion, Alzaabi said, “Ramadan is a time of compassion, generosity, and solidarity with those in need. Through this initiative, the UAE Government and the Emirates Red Crescent aim to stand beside the people of Bangladesh and help ease the burden on vulnerable families during this blessed month. We are grateful for the opportunity to share the spirit of Ramadan with communities here.”
Beneficiary families expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Government of the United Arab Emirates and the Emirates Red Crescent for extending this support.
Many noted that the assistance would significantly help their households manage daily meals during Ramadan and bring comfort during a time of reflection and community.
The distribution is part of the UAE’s broader humanitarian commitment to supporting communities around the world, particularly during important occasions such as Ramadan, reinforcing the longstanding friendship and cooperation between the United Arab Emirates and Bangladesh.
