The MoU was inked at the auditorium of the Finance Division in line with the government’s house building loan policy.
UGC Secretary (Additional Charge) Dr Ferdous Zaman, Additional Secretary of Finance Division Md Ekhlasur Rahman and Managing Director of Janata Bank Md Abdus Salam Azad signed the deed on behalf of their respective sides.

Addressing the function, the UGC Secretary said the UGC officials and employees will be able to fulfill their dreams of buying houses or flats availing the soft loans. “Their long-cherished dreams will be materialised through this agreement,” he said.
Under the agreement, a staff of the UGC will get a house building loan of Tk 20 lakh to Tk 75 lakh at four percent interest. The government will pay the remaining five percent interest for a period of 20 years.

High officials from the UGC, the Finance Division and Janata Bank were present on the occasion.
The UGC Secretary said a public servant gets the key to an apartment and a car in the developed countries and even in Malaysia among the Asian countries.
He extended thanks to the Finance Ministry and Janata Bank Ltd for signing the agreement and expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for providing loan with easy terms to the public servants.

Md Ekhlasur Rahman also spoke on the occasion.
UGC Joint Secretary Zafor Ahommad Jahanger, its Additional Director Mohammad Maksudur Rahman Bhuiyan, Deputy Managing Director of Janata Bank Md Ismail Hossain, among other high officials from the Finance Division under the Finance Ministry, Janata Bank Ltd, Sonali Bank Ltd and Agrani Bank Ltd were present at the function.
