Police recovered the throat-slit body of an unidentified woman in Savar’s Ashulia on Wednesday.
After being informed, Ashulia police recovered the body and sent it to Shaheed Suhrawardy Hospital morgue for an autopsy, said Ashulia Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Noor Alam Siddique.
The identity of the victim was yet to be known, said the OC.
The woman was killed on Tuesday in the Jaharchanda area of Ashulia union. She was murdered with a sharp weapon, and her neck was slit. The skin from her face, neck, and all ten fingers was also removed, possibly to eliminate evidence and prevent identification.
Police were working to uncover the mystery of the murder and identify the deceased, the OC added.
