Owners will have to move their vehicles on Dhaka roads based on odd or even registration numbers to reduce traffic, said Dhaka North City Corporation Mayor Atiqul Islam.
If provided the responsibility of city’s traffic management, the city corporation will take such a step that “Those who have an even number on their number plate will drive on even date and the next day the vehicles with odd number will get to ply," mayor Atiqul said while inaugurating Bangabandhu Open Stage at Uttara sector-7 on Saturday.
The mayor said effective traffic management system will need to be taken after researching the amount of vehicles plying in different areas in the capital.
Branches of organisations like Bangla Academy and Shilpakala Academy are needed in Uttara to ensure cultural development of children, teenagers here, he said.
He said DNCC has established the Bangabandhu open stage sensing the need of arranging cultural programs, addas for the children and teens of Uttara.
Mohammad Nurul Huda, Director General of Bangla Academy, AAMS Arefin Siddique, former Dhaka University Vice Chancellor, Mofidul Hoque, trustee of Bangladesh Liberation War museum was present among others at the program.
