Executive Editor of Bangladesh Protidin Peer Habibur Rahman passed away on Saturday.
He breathed his last at 4.08 pm at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Labaid Hospital in the capitai. He was 59.
Peer Habib suffered a stroke while undergoing treatment at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Hospital (BSMMU) on Friday evening and was shifted to the ICU of Labaid Hospital.
In October last year, he recovered from cancer after a bone marrow transplant at Jasluk Hospital in Mumbai.

On January 22, he tested positive for Covid-19 and was admitted to Labaid Hospital on the advice of Dr ABM Abdullah.
Bangladesh Protidin special correspondent Anis Rahman said, he was recently admitted to BSMMU due to kidney complications. While undergoing treatment there, he had a stroke on Friday evening and was shifted to the ICU of Labaid Hospital.

Peer Habib was born on 12 November 1963 in Sunamganj.
President Abdul Hamid, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and leaders of different journalists’ associations expressed deep sorrow over the death of the veteran journalist.
