Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Returning Officer Abul Kashem said on Saturday morning that the number of voters will increase gradually.
He made the remark while speaking to reporters after a visit at IIS School in Uttara.
Asked about allegations of irregularities, the election official said there were complaints from only 14 polling centres among 1,318 in DNCC – only one percent.
Security forces were sent there immediately after getting complains.
“The situation is normal everywhere. I also spoke to voters. Nobody made any complaints,” he said.
Balloting in the Dhaka city election started at 8am and will continue until 4pm without any break.
