Foreign Affairs Adviser Mohammad Touhid Hossain has emphasised that Bangladesh seeks good relations with all countries based on mutual respect and equality.
He said this at a meeting with all the upazila officials at Belab Upazila Conference Room in Narsingdi on Saturday noon.
The adviser said that the government is working towards this goal and has conveyed a clear message to India, expressing the desire for a positive relationship based on shared interests of both parties. The government has been entrusted with a specific responsibility amid the student movement and is working towards implementing reforms.

The aim is to facilitate free and fair elections, after which power will be handed over to the elected politicians to govern the country, he added.
The meeting was chaired by Upazila Executive Officer Mohammad Abdul Karim and attended by former Secretary of the Bridge Division Mohammad Zahid Hossain, Adviser of MRDI Mohammad Shahid Hossain, Chairman of the Bangladesh Energy and Power Research Council (BEPRC) and Senior Secretary Mohammad Wahid Hossain NDC, former Air Commodore of the Bangladesh Air Force Mohammad Khalid Hossain, Assistant Police Superintendent (Raipura Circle) Afsan Al Alam, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Mohammad Najmul Hossain, and other local leaders including the Convenor of the Upazila BNP Ahsan Habib Bipul and former President Advocate Oliur Rahman Kawsar.
