The woman, identified as Hasina Begum, 35, is the daughter of Habi Hawlader of Thantali area under Madaripur municipality and the wife of Al-Amin of Kalaimara village in Jhaudi Union of Madaripur Sadar upazila.
According to police, Hasina was detained on Thursday night by Sub-Inspector (SI) Moksedur Rahman of Iterpul Police Outpost on allegations of involvement in immoral activities.
She was later handed over to Madaripur Sadar Model Police Station.
As the main police station building is currently under construction, police operations are being conducted from the ground floor of the OC's official residence. Since there is no designated lock-up at the temporary facility, Hasina was kept under police custody in a room on the veranda.
At around 1:30 am, she broke the room's iron grill and escaped.
Following the escape, the duty officer, Ramzan Ali Sajal, and a constable on duty were withdrawn on Friday and attached to the police lines.

The committee has been asked to submit its report within three working days.
Police later launched a drive and rearrested Hasina from a house in the Keraniganj area of Dhaka on Friday night.
She was produced before a court on Saturday afternoon and subsequently sent to jail, the OC added.
