An 18-year-old girl has reportedly been raped by five people at Hossainpur village in Barura upazila of Cumilla district.
Police arrested five people in this connection on Friday night after the rape survivor lodged a complaint against, them, said Iqbal Bahar, officer-in-charge of Barura Police Station.

The crime occurred on Wednesday at a filed at Hossainpur village.
Four of the arrestees were identified as Minar Hossain, son of Abul Kalam, Nasir Hossain, son of Yeasin Mia, Noman Hossain, son of Aminul Islam, Sohel Bhuiya, son of Gafur Bhuiya and Moazzem Hossain while the identity of another could not be known immediately.
According to the complaint, the girl used to live with her mother near EPZ area of the city and she had a relationship with Minar.
On Wednesday, Minar on the pretext of marrying the girl took her to an open filed at Hossainpur village where he along with his friends violated her in turns.

When the girl fell sick, they hired a CNG-run auto-rickshaw and sent her to her house in Cumilla city. They also threatened to not to disclose the matter to anyone.
