Gaibandha, Oct 16 (UNB) – Police arrested a youth over the rape of a four-year-old girl at Chatrogacha village in Sadullapur upazila early Wednesday.
The suspect was identified as Arif Mia, 26, son of Mannan Dakuya of the village.
Masudur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Sadullapur Police Station, said Arif lured the girl to an abandoned house with promises of giving her biscuits on Thursday afternoon and raped her.
Locals rushed to the site hearing the girl’s scream and took her to a hospital. Arif fled the scene.
The victim’s father filed a case that night.
