Police arrested a youth for violating a mentally challenged girl at Patan village in Salanga area on Saturday night.
The arrestee is Sharif, 30, a resident of the village.
Quoting local people, Tajul Huda, officer-in-charge of Salanga Police Station, said Sharif violated the girl when she went to her neighbour’s house for watching TV at night.
Hearing screams, local people rescued the girl.
Victim’s father filed a case at night.
