A youth was stabbed to death allegedly by miscreants with sharp weapons in Bil Bhaduria village of Malanchi Union in Pabna Sadar upazila on Sunday evening.
The deceased was identified as Sumon Hossain, 32, son of Rabiul Islam of the village.
Pabna Additional Superintendent of Police Sakhawat Hossain said Sumon was attacked around 5:30pm and sustained multiple injuries in his body.
Citing the victim’s family, the ASP said Sumon was addicted to drugs.
The motive behind the killing and the identities of those involved were not immediately known, the police official said, adding that an investigation was underway to determine the circumstances of the incident and identify the perpetrators.
Police recovered the body and sent it to Pabna General Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
Legal proceedings in connection with the incident are underway.
