A 23-year-old man was stabbed to death by miscreants in Boalmari upazila of Faridpur district on Sunday night.
The deceased was identified as Mehedi Mridha, son of Salam Mridha of Kamargram Mridha Bari area. He was a mason by profession.
According to neighbours, Mehedi left home around 9 pm and didn’t come back.
Around 10 pm, locals found the bloodstained body of Mehedi near a chicken farm in Raipur area.
He was rushed to the emergency department of the Upazila Health Complex where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.
Sonia Begum, wife of the deceased, said that her husband had a dispute with one Sayed over a piece of land. They recently filed a case against Mehedi, she said. They may have murdered Mehedi, she alleged.
Muhammad Abdul Wahab, officer-in-charge (OC) of Boalmari Police Station, said that based on information, they recovered the body from the hospital.
Filing of a case related to the incident is underway, added the OC.
