Bangladesh Bank (BB) has restructured the board of directors of Exim Bank, removing chairman Md Nazrul Islam Mazumder and his wife, Nasreen Islam, from the board.
The central bank issued an order on Thursday and directed the managing director of the
bank to implement the changes immediately.
The restructured board includes former Bangladesh Bank executive director SM Rezaul Karim and chartered accountant Khandaker Mamun as the bank’s independent directors.
Other members of the board are Md Nazrul Islam Shopon, who holds a 3.54 percent share in the bank, Md Nurul Amin with a 2 percent share, and Anjan Kumar Saha, who also holds a 2 percent share.
