Evaly co-founder and former chairman of the e-commerce platform, Shamima Nasrin, on Thursday hinted at starting a new campaign for selling products from October 15.
"If we can start the business, we can move forward. We decided to sell products at profit from day one,” she said.
Shamima said that it would be possible to pay off debt if Evaly can run business uninterrupted for one year.
She urged customers to have faith in Evaly.
“We have two independent directors appointed by the High Court to manage our operations,” Shamima said, adding that she would seek Russell's bail under any condition. It is necessary for Evaly to move forward, she said.
When asked how much money Evaly received from investors, she said, “Many investors contacted us after our arrest. Now if we start business again, new investors will come.”
During a virtual press conference, Shamima said that if 45 lakh buyers and 30,000 sellers (business associates) of Evaly bought products regularly for their daily needs, it would be easy to bring domestic and foreign investment.
She said, after release on bail, more than 400 sellers have assured to cooperate with Evely with new products through affidavits in the High Court Division of the Supreme Court.
The High Court has formed a five-member Board of Directors to manage Evaly under the close supervision of the government to protect the interests of buyers and sellers.
The former chairman of Evaly said, Mohammad Sahab Uddin Shipon from e-Cab, and Dr Kazi Kamrun Nahar, Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce, are on the board.
“We have decided to sell products with cash on delivery, pick and pay and cash before delivery,” Shamima said.
Evaly will not sell a single product without making a profit, she said.
