KM Ashraful Islam became champion while Shahed Shahrukh and Jannatul Khan Riki secured the first and the second runner-up positions among the 10 contestants of the final round.

The other top seven contestants were Samiul, Das Sourav, Abdus Salam, Abdullah Al Mamun, Mahbub Talukder, Tamanna Nasrin, and Imran Nazir Srabon. 

The jury of the final round of the video contest – including National Film Award winner Nargis Akter, Prothom Alo journalist Monzur Kader Zia and Walton Hi-Tech Industries Deputy Managing Director Md Humayun Kabir – declared the winners of the contest at an award-giving ceremony in the capital on Thursday.

Ashraful Islam, the champion of the video contest, got Tk1 lakh, the first and the second runner-up received Tk50,000 and Tk30,000.

Walton Refrigerator also gave away Tk15,000 and crest to each of the other top seven winners. 

Ashraful, “I have been dreamt of becoming a filmmaker from childhood. Now, I have been moved one step ahead to make my dream come true. I would like to thank Walton for arranging such a contest.”

The first round of “Walton Smart Fridge, Smart Maker” video contest was held during December 2020. And 82 contestants submitted their video contents on Walton fridge.

Of them, 10 contestants, who got the highest marks in the first round out of 100 marks moved to the final round of the video contest. 

The marking comprised 25 marks on story content, 50 on content development and 25 on social media activities of the contestants.

Then in the final round, the ten contestants made another video content on Walton fridges.

The jury ranked the top ten winners of the video contest based on 100 marks – 50 marks on video content development and 50 on social media activities of the contestants.
