The 'Bangabandhu' roleplayer was showered in love by this surprise celebration consisting of the director of the Bangladesh-India joint venture film Shyam Benegal, eminent actor Dilara Zaman who is playing the role of Bangabandhu's mother Sayera Khatun, acclaimed actor Chanchal Chowdhury and more.
Shuvoo posted photos and the video of the celebration on his official Facebook page on Tuesday night, expressing that it was his "best birthday ever".
"I am struggling with words that can express my feelings. Thank you so much. I thank all of you who wished me from Dhaka and all over the world. What happened today, I can say this is my best birthday ever," Arifin Shuvoo said in the video.
Born in Bhaluka, Mymensingh - Shuvoo's career started as a newcomer in the entertainment industry when he came to Dhaka in the early 2000s and started working as a ramp model, Radio Jockey (RJ) and freelance actor in television commercials.
He made his acting debut in 2007 with acclaimed director Mostofa Sarwar Farooki's television series Ha/Na in 2007 and went on become a popular actor in the television industry.
Shuvoo debuted on the silver screen with country's first sports drama film Jaago - Dare To Dream, written and directed by Khijir Hayat Khan. From then, Shuvoo successfully established himself as a commercial film actor and acted in 19 films with lead roles in 16 of them, including Agnee, Musafir, Purno Doirgho Prem Kahini, Taarkata, Kistimaat, Aha Re, Shapludu and more.
Audiences and the critics praised his performance in the action film Dhaka Attack, and the film was the highest-grossing Bangladeshi film of 2017 which went on becoming the 3rd highest-grossing Bangladeshi film of all time and the highest-grossing Bangladeshi film worldwide, till date.
The shooting of Arifin Shuvoo's latest venture 'Bangabandhu', a biographical film on Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, started in Mumbai of India on January 21. Bangladesh and India are jointly producing the much-hyped film, as part of the Birth Centenary celebration of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Alongside Arifin Shuvoo, several Bangladeshi actors are also essaying significant roles in the film. Noted actor Khairul Alam Sabuj will portray Bangabandhu's father Sheikh Lutfar Rahman, actors Nusrat Imrose Tisha and Dighi will respectively portray the elder and younger versions of Bangabandhu’s wife Sheikh Fazilatunnesa, Nusraat Faria and Jannatul Sumaiya will be seen as the younger and elder versions of Bangabandhu’s daughter Sheikh Hasina, and other prominent actors including Raisul Islam Asad, Gazi Rakayet, Shahidul Alam Sachchu, Ferdous Ahmed, Tauquir Ahmed, Misha Sawdagar, Siam Ahmed and more will play significant roles in the biopic.
The shoot's Mumbai portion is set to conclude on April 10.
