On the second day, a theatre lecture on ‘Ontorongo Kothon: Amar Natyapoth’ was held at the Seminar Room of BSA where noted director-actor Sri Bibhas Chakraborty was present as a discussant.
Later, Chintok Theatre of Gobindaganj in Gaibandha staged a folk dance-drama ‘Behula Bhasan’ at BSA main theatre hall.
Fakir Aziz Sarkar from Manikgonj will present ‘Gazir Gaan’ at BSA in the concluding day of the three-day celebration programme.
Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor inaugurated the programme on Thursday on the BSA premises while honourary president of ITI Bangladesh Ramendu Majumdar, BSA director general Liaquat Ali Lucky were present as special guests.
After the inauguration, Pallavi Dance Centre, Dhaka and artistes of ethnic minority presented group dance performance.
Later, theatre collage by seven theatre troupes was staged. The participating troupes are Natyadhara, Padatik Natya Samgsad, Loko Natyadal, Theatre Art Unit, Natya Teertha, Mahakal Natya Sampraday and Bangladesh Theatre.
The International Theatre Institute - ITI Worldwide, World Organization for the Performing Arts is an international non-governmental organisation, established by UNESCO in Prague in 1948.
The main objective was to build an organisation oriented towards realising the goals of UNESCO in the field of culture, education and art.
2018 is a significant year for ITI as the organization was founded on July 1, 2018 and completing its significantly fruitful existence globally for long 70 years.
Bangladesh has had a long relationship with ITI. ITI Bangladesh centre was founded in the year 1982 with the lone initiative of Ramendu Majumdar.
