Here's some good news for movie buffs! Jodi Kintu Tobuo, a romantic comedy starring Ziaul Faruq Apurba and Nusrat Faria in lead roles, is all set for an OTT release on April 1.

Dubbed as the “Bangladeshi Wedding of the Year”, the film’s plot revolves around Abeer (Apurba) and Preety (Nusrat Faria), who experience a roller coaster of emotions and complex situations in an urban setup.

ZEE5 Global, the largest OTT platform for South Asian content, is set to release the web film as its fourth local production in Bangladesh.

Directed by National Award winner Shihab Shaheen, the film is Apurba and Nusrat's maiden collaboration together as an on-screen couple for any OTT production.

Sharing the experiences, director Shihab Shaheen said at a virtual press conference prior to the release, "We have made this film over the past one and a half years. Our pre-production, production and post-production stages were jointly done within Bangladesh and India."

"This is my first cinematic project that will be available to the 35 crore Bengali viewers residing in 190 countries and this is such a remarkable achievement for me and my entire cast and crew team."

"We are going to see the romantic duo of Apurba and Nusrat Faria for the first time ever in a movie, and I believe the viewers will enjoy the story and the unseen chemistry of this pair on screen," Shaheen said at the event.

Actor Nusrat emphasised on the team effort during the ongoing pandemic situation. "I would like to label Jodi Kintu Tobuo as a 'Covid-winning film' because we made this entire cinema within the hardest periods of this deadly pandemic."

"Nonetheless, I can proudly say that it feels really good to be a part of a project that is transcending quality contents for our global Bengali audiences."

Explaining the extravaganza, Apurba said, "When I first explored the set, it felt to me like an actual wedding ceremony -- that much perfection and efforts were put in the production."

"Pur beloved expatriates have limited resources when it comes to Bengali language-based entertainment contents, except for some free local contents on YouTube -- therefore, I must say that ZEE5 is doing a commendable job, presenting pure Bengali contents to Bengali audiences."

Speaking on the trailer launch of Jodi Kintu Tobou, Archana Anand, Chief Business Officer, ZEE5 Global, said, “All our Bengali originals ie Mainkar Chipay, WTFry and Contract have received a huge audience response. The film will also feature notable actors such as Tariq Anam Khan, Saberi Alam, Naziba Bashar and Amaan Reza in major roles.
