Recently, Karan Johar humorously compared the show to his film Student of the Year, recalling the rivalry between Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra after the film’s release. While The Summer I Turned Pretty centers on two brothers competing for the same girl, Student of the Year also explores a love triangle between friends.
