Beijing, July 4 (Xinhua/UNB) -- "Spiderman: Far from Home," the new sequel to the 2017 "Spiderman: Homecoming," continued leading the Chinese mainland box office on Wednesday, China Movie Data Information Network said Thursday.
On the sixth day since its debut, the lastest American superhero film set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe raked in about 59.47 million yuan (8.67 million U.S. dollars), accounting for about 68 percent of the daily total.
The Oscar-winning Japanese animated film "Spirited Away" ranked second, grossing about 10.96 million yuan.
It was followed by the fourth installment of Pixar's trademark "Toy Story" series, which generated about 4.08 million yuan.
"Spiderman: Far from Home" earned a total box office of 884 million yuan since its June 28 debut on the Chinese mainland.
